Post

According to the latest data on gender balance in corporate boardrooms, there is still a significant gender imbalance amongst key decision-makers in large listed companies in the IPA beneficiaries (i.e. the five EU candidate countries and two potential candidates from the Western Balkans and Turkey). These two Statistical Notes have been developed under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) funded by the European Union.

The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) monitors the situation in the EU Member States and in the IPA beneficiaries on a biannual basis. The latest data collected in October 2019 are available from EIGE’s Gender Statistics Database. This note reviews the current situation and trends in the five IPA beneficiary countries that have a stock exchange and a blue-chip index of major companies (i.e. Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina).
