Following my mail-message dated on 11-2-2016, I would like to inform you that the General Secretariat for Gender Equality, i.e. the governmental organization in charge of equality between women and men in Greece, also issued a press release yesterday on the key findings and the messages of the recent Study by the E.P. on the reception of female refugees and asylum seekers in the European Union (February 2016).
The press release in Greek has proved to be a great success and gained widespread publicity among Greek mass media and social media (you will recognize the reference to the E.P. Survey at once). Here are some indicative links:
In that way and as a follow-up to the upload of the E.P. Study on our website and the facebook, as well as to its dissemination to a number of Ministries, Organizations and Agencies by us, further promotion and greater visibility of the role of the European Parliament on women's empowerment and equality between women and men have been achieved by our initiative among competent Greek stakeholders.
Furthermore, the specific Study can serve as a useful tool to incorporate gender mainstreaming in asylum policies, a high priority for the European Union nowadays.
The Greek side would be grateful if you informed the E.P. leadership accordingly.
Wishing you and all the members of your team the very best,
Yours sincerely,
THE DIRECTOR
