Gendering the Western Balkans’ EU Accession Processes is a five-year programme, funded by The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, and implemented by the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation in cooperation with local women’s civil society organisations in the Western Balkans. It includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. The overall objective of the programme is to strengthen women’s rights and women’s equal participation in decision-making in the Western Balkans, with the specific objective of gendering EU accession. Strengthening civil society - through women’s organisations - runs as an undercurrent of the programme.
Withing the framework of the programme, members of several organisations from the Western Balkans will visit EIGE on the 27 and 28 July. Participants will get a chance to know EIGE's work, particularly the cooperation with EU Pre-Accession countries, gender mainstreaming methods and tools, EIGE's Gender Equality Index and Gender Statistics Database and communications.
Agenda of the event and the descriptions of partner organisations will be available under the Resources Tab.
